| Resdayn07-21-07, 03:28 AM | Hi! In our next game I'm going to play a Ranger/Rogue and I could swear there was a feat that lets rogue and ranger levels stack for animal companion and sneak attack. Or maybe I was hallucinating since flipping through my books for hours yielded no results. Is there really such a feat with rogue and ranger levels stacking for anything or am I confusing this with something elese? Or is it a class feature of a PrC? Thanks in advance! |

EDIT: Since you asked for it, you probably got this hallucinatory feat confused with Swift Hunter, stacking Ranger and Scout for Skirmish and Favored Enemy progression (and granting on top of it the ability to do Skirmishing damage to Favored Enemies immune to crits, cough.) |
| WackyOne07-21-07, 09:34 AM | There's also swift ambusher, stacking rogue and scout - but no, nothing for rogue/rangers. They already get their "applicable to full attacks" bonus damage, WotC didn't see the need of having them stack. |

| Wraithwin07-21-07, 10:57 AM | Yeah... Sadly none for Rogue and Ranger. I Scout and Ranger really does make more sense though. Honestly... if you don't mind a flavor difference, Scout and Ranger with the feat that combines them might be close enough to what you're looking for. :) Scout isn't exactly Ranger, but flavor-wise, they're close. Now if your DM's into strange mixes, you can always try... Ninja 3 - Scout 3 - Rogue 14. Take Two Weapon Fighting, Swift Ambusher, Improved Skirmish and maybe Expanded Ki Pool, and whatever other feats work well for you. :) Possibly Weapon Finesse. If I'm not mistaken at 19th, if you poof invisible and move at least 20ft before striking your target, that's something like... +2d6 Sudden Strike +7d6 Skirmish (+6 AC if needed) +7d6 Sneak Attack Total: +16d6 extra damage on that attack... Heh. Add that "Able to full attack after a charge" feat and laugh. :) Now, what I think they should have a feat for: Scout & Barbarian It makes total sense to me - rough and wild nature survival, let their movements stack (if they don't already), have Scout count as Barbarian towards Rage and let Barbarian count as Scout towards Skirmish. This isn't really any more potent than many of the others, and great flavor. :) I'd play one. Go 8 or 10 in Scout, the rest in Barbarian - a decent even level split. Oh man... Barbarian/Scout with Brachiation and Spring Attack... (grins) |

That's very, very bad already, totally out when combined with, say, 35d6 possible skirmish damage. Ranger/Scout is mighty good as it stands, but it won't actually build the ultimate melee monster. |

| Chimaera200007-22-07, 02:00 AM | Improved Skirmish is also from Complete Scoundrel. |
