Sort of.

There's the Scent feat in CAdv that allows you to burn a daily wild shape use to get Scent.

I also recall seeing somewhere (3.0 DMG?) an optional rule that half-orcs could take Scent as a feat.

Other than that, you could consider some of the options in the Lists of Stuff (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=662842).

Scent is also available through a spell (see Spell Compendium). You could craft a ring or wondrous item that would provide the spell's benefit continuously. By the standard DMG formula it's a bit expensive at low levels, but your DM might allow a discount since this isn't a particularly powerful ability.

Yeah, there's some Armors in RoW that give scent for a limited time; they're rather pricey, but include lots of other abilities, which makes me think Scent alone wouldn't be too expensive. Although there is also a mask in Races of Eberron that gives Scent and costs 18,000 gp that only warforged can use.. That seems a bit expensive to me, although it can be a great ability.

Yes.

Martial Stance from Tome of Battle lets you choose Hunter's Stance andthus have a Scent ability that is activated by a Swift Action and lasts until deactivated, with no particular time limit.

It's a lot easier to just play something from that book, but it is avaialble from level one if you meet the prereqs.

Also there are a few races that have the option to use a feat to gain scent.

sometimes its nice to be able to turn it off after the half orc barbarian goes out and cooks his own "food" the night you have to share a room.
