Is there a (hopefully simple) way to get Sense Motive as a class skill for Clerics? I'm not coming up with anything...

The feat Skill Knowledge (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/alternativeSkillSystems.htm#skillKnowled ge) from UA.

The Pact domain.

Alternatively, some DMs (everyone that I play with for example) house rule it as it makes sense for clerics to be expected to be good at reading people.

Not necessarily, but a case can be made. Otherwise, you could just say that they are wise (high wisdom) and that's where the ability to read people comes from.

I needed SM for a cleric PrC pre-req, so I delved into Human Paragon ( UA )
Select 10 skills as class skills for paragon levels.
Select one skill to remain a class skill for any/all classes from that point.
