03-29-07, 11:44 AM Can Shape Soulmeld bypass alignment restrictions on soulmelds?

IE, if I'm a good Incarnate, can I use Shape Soulmeld [Bloodwar Gauntlets] to learn how to use some of evil's own power to defeat it?

If you're an Incarnate or Soulborn, you have the Aligned Soulmelds class feature, which bars you certain melds based on their alignment. Shape Soulmeld says that it works by the normal meldshaping rules, which include mention of aligned soulmelds if you're an incarnate or soulborn.

If you're anything else (even a totemist), you can use Shape Soulmeld regardless of alignment.
