Sorry, I am somewhat new to these boards so please stick with me. This is probably a really stupid question but I was just wondering if the feat Mother Cyst allows you to cast all the spells it lists or merely adds them to your class spell list? The words "You can cast these spells like any other spell you can cast" seem to suggest you can cast them; but the players in my group seem to think that they are only added to you class list. Anyone out there who can clarify?

Thanks in advance! :)

Yes, you add them to your spells known. Very useful for sorcerers and other casters that have a limited spell selection, especially if you're gross! EWWW!

I always thought the cyst spells were cool, but most of them make for excellent BBEG spells.

Be forewarned before using necrotic cyst in high level characters--Tumor has no duration or HD limit and CANNOT be removed by any normal means.

My heavy tumor use was one of the reasons that my Death Master 20 Fatespinner 5 (lol, legions of minions, right?) was effectively banned from a campaign.
He was so cool, too. He was a freaky voodoo lich necromancer with an Indian accent and was completely foreign to common moral practices, with a squad of undead giants at his control. (He also kept a group of tumored spellcasters in a bag of holding--each with an ioun stone for no breathing. The group of spellcasters were collectively called "Toolbox," and pretty much eliminated the need for party members or scrolls.)

Ah! Thank you very much! I will have to tell my friends.....:plotting:
I noticed it was very good for a sorcerer, I am actually planning on playing a sorcerer (a gross one :)) who focuses on binding demons then enslaving them via Necrotic Tumor, it remains to be seen if my DM will allow this however.

That is so hilarious and awesome I may just have to steal it for myself!

Thanks for your help! Wish me luck with my DM AnonymousInternets! I hope my character doesn't get banned like yours!
Take care, ShotgunOrc!

The secret to not being banned is to limit yourself. Having a minion follow you around who can do something but you never do it until absolutely necessary or when the story warrants is one thing, enslaving every town and using the inhabitants as fodder in an unholy war is another.

Make sure you aren't derailing the DM's campaign and make sure he's aware of the power level you're aiming for so that he can adjust his encounters. Also make sure your other players are equally powerful or at least not bored. Its a party.

The Mother Cyst gives you all those spells as free Knowns to spontaneous casters and doesn't require a wizard to write them it her spellbook either.

Neeraj was awesome and hilarious. Anything that I couldn't tumor, I'd kill and animate (epic skeletal animation, lulz).

~~~
The party stood before the slain Rexus--the worshiped great tiger of the forest. The group's sorcerer lay unconscious, and there wasn't a cleric for hundreds of miles to be seen to heal him. Neeraj smirked while pulling out a small bag from his cloak. He spoke into the bag, "Toolbox, heal the sorcerer." A frail, blank-eyed, middle-aged man with a small stone orbiting his head suddenly emerged from the bag. He slowly walked to the sorcerer's body and began to heal it with divine magic.
Neeraj spoke again into the bag, "Toolbox, we will be needing teleportation after the healing is finished." Another frail human appeared from the bag, also with a blank expressing and a stone circling his head. He had a red cloak with a large "C" painted on the back.
"Wait--before we go..." Neeraj walked to the body of the slain tiger and chanted a few words, performed a flourish with his hands, and the skeleton of the epic tiger rose from its body. Neeraj drew one of his portable holes and placed it on the ground, "Get in." The Tiger skeleton lumbered into the hole. Neeraj peeled the hole off the ground and stashed it.
"Toolbox," said the lich, "take us home."
Thanks again for all the advise guys! So far people on these boards seem pretty awesome. ;)
I have used my character with the Mother Cyst feat for the first time! He ended up being a human sorcerer 8/nar demonbinder 7 (I found the nar demonbinder on the net a few hours before the game). Although he was pretty hastily written up he immediately seemed pretty broken to me. My DM decided to let me play him as I promised to limit myself, as per your suggestion EvilVegan :) . So far the only major encounter we have played has been a souped up (Huge, Maximum HitDice) Iron Golem which my two Marilith slaves failed to damage. :embarrass
Note, in general the feat itself is weak compared to bloodline feats.
It grants you 10 spells, but 2 of which are basically spells that are 'set up' spells that by themselves are pretty worthless. It is only the later spells that are cool.
All in all, the bloodline feats are stronger.
