Unarmed Strikes are listed under the list of Simple Weapons in the PHB.

That means that anyone proficient with Simple Weapons are also proficient with Unarmed Strikes, which means that they are always armed, Improved Unarmed Strike or no.

That US's deal nonlethal damage is inconsequential, as saps do, too.

So that means that any character proficient with Simple Weapons will never take Attacks of Opportunity for making Unarmed Strikes.

Am I wrong?

[edit] Hmm. Should've put this in the Equipment and Combat section. My bad. Sorry 'bout that.

Am I wrong?Yes. Proficiency has nothing to do with armed-ness.

Veg is correct. It simply means you don't take a -4 penalty with it.

Am I wrong?

100% wrong.

U.S. take AoO when used unless I.U.S. feat is taken.
