You now know these skills as class skills. Special: Instead of choosing two class skills, you may choose one cross-class skill (whether you already know it or not) and learn it, treating it as a class skill from that point forward. Ok, I understand the "Special" option, but what do I get from choosing 2 skills from "your current class' skill lists" (and what do they mean by "lists") ? |
| ibayboy08-28-07, 03:17 AM | To gain anything from the first option you need to be a multi-classed character. Choose two skills from any of your classes and they are now class skills for all your classes, forever. for example, Rog1/Wiz5, use Skill Knowledge to choose Tumble and Bluff from the rogue level. Then when you continue to level up in Wizard you have them as class skills, |
| Kouk08-28-07, 09:44 AM | It seems to me that the feat would make those skills count as class skills no matter what class you were advancing in, which would mean they always would cost just one point to advance a rank. |
| HobbitGuy142008-28-07, 10:08 AM | I'd been looking for a feat like that - is this from an official source, or is it a fan creation? also, depending on the race of the character in question, the feat Able Learner could do the same thing for multiclassed characters, except that all skills now cost only 1 point to learn. Only works for human or changeling characters, but it's a nice little feat for those! |
| goawayugh08-28-07, 10:43 AM | Keep in mind though that Able Learner still has the cross-class max ranks rule. |
| HobbitGuy142008-28-07, 10:52 AM | but (and correct me if I'm wrong, here) once you've had a skill on your class list, the max ranks are permanantly equal to the max ranks of a class skill, right? Therefore, if you have Able Learner, any skill from any of your class lists is as good as a class skill. |

It does not make it a class skill. Unless you have a skill one one of your classes skill lists, then the max ranks of (level+3)/2 still applies. I'd quote the feat, but it's not OGC. |

That last sentence says any skill from your class lists, which is the correct interpretation of what he was asking. |
