I was seeing Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book, and suddenly i saw that Elminster (pg. 7) has a skill named Scry. What does that skill?? Is that skill valid in D&D?? I couldn't find nothing about that skill. Please answer.

You were looking at a 3.0 write up. It has been banished to the depths of out of date material by the Gods of Wotc.

The skill Scry has been made unnecessary.

Correct, Scry was a skill from 3.0 that related to using scrying abilities and detecting when people used them on you (I think).

The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting was mostly updated to 3.5 with the Player's Guide to Faerun (you would need both books). I don't recall if they re-statted Elminster and the others or not though, but at the least they probably mentioned what to change about their stat blocks.
