Hi,

When you level and you're multiclassing, can you pick your new skill points from the skills that you learned from all of your classes as normal class skills or can you only upgrade skills that come from the class that you're leveling in?

I need to know because I'm doing the quintessential swashbuckler3/ftr2/dervish and I want Perform maxed out at level 6

If a skill ever becomes a class skill the max skill point syou can have in that skill are still as if it it were a class skill. However if you take a class that doesn't have it as a class skill you still have to pay two skill points for one rank in the skill.

I forget if perform is a swashbuckler skill so I'm going to assume it's not

Level 1 (SB) Ranks 2 cost 4 Max Ranks 2
Level 2 (SB) Ranks .5 cost 1 Max Ranks 2.5
Level 3 (SB) Ranks .5 cost 1 Max Ranks 3
Level 4 (Ftr) Ranks .5 cost 1 Max Ranks 3.5
Level 5 (Ftr) Ranks .5 Cost 1 Max Ranks 4
Level 6 (Drv) Ranks 5 cost 5 Max Ranks 9

I agree with Apupu. From the skills summary section in the SRD:

"Regardless of whether a skill is purchased as a class skill or a cross-class skill, if it is a class skill for any of your classes, your maximum rank equals your total character level + 3."
