For example, the rogue wants to take the still sheated sword from the bad guy. Situation A : it's in the beginnig of a fight (won the ini) Situation B : it's in the street when the bad guy is not still aware of the party. |

A two-handed weapon (assuming it is fairly large in relation to your own size, like most of them are) I would say would be DC 25-30 though, because you have to be in contact with it a lot longer (pulling it from the sheathe or whatever) before it is free. |
| Label08-26-07, 05:13 PM | That's what I thought but the disarm rules have also the "Grabbing item" section, in which we can use a disarm attack to take something the creature wears, such as a necklace or a pair of goggles. |
| T_Stalker08-26-07, 05:54 PM | A: definately disarm: the opponent is aware of the thief, who in turn doesn't care about being spotted. Unless he was succesfully hiding, it's a disarm, "grabbing a worn item" B: thief's choice, if he wants to do it whitout being noticed => sleight of hand, otherwise ... well I'd probably sneak attack him with a sap if I had the choice, but I'd say if the thief does it really obvious it's a disarm, under the "grabbing an item" rules like Label said. Well, that or Bluff ("Say that's a nice looking sword, is it real Toledo steel? You know, my uncle is a blacksmith in that area, might if I take a look for his mark?") ;) edit: oh Label is the OP, sorry, well at least you looked it up :) |

This is for if you don't put ranks in SoH. Remember, you can't use it untrained.(This is a bit like not taking weapon finesse and thereby having to use your STR mod for your AB.) |
