| dengarbountyhunter03-11-07, 03:23 PM | What would be the Sleight of Hand DC for taking a greatsword (from a sleeping person, but that's the opposed Spot check), if it is at all possible? Note: I don't think it would be comfortable to sleep with a greatsword (in its scabbard, but still), but my PCs probably won't take the chance with the greatsword they have to retrieve. And actually they're right, if I'm asking the would-be DC, it's because I plan on having people trying to steal it. |
| Dheran03-12-07, 09:47 AM | The DC is 50. See Epic Sleight of Hand (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/skills.htm#sleightOfHand). |
| benihana03-12-07, 11:35 AM | Not knowing any details, all I know is that I'd probably find it easier to just coup de grace the guy than try to steal it. Your players might too. He won't wake up if he's dead :P |
| ClementWillowbreaker03-12-07, 01:55 PM | The epic usage lets you pull a weapon one size larger than yourself. Two-handers are objects of equal size to the intended user, so if you were also the same size, i would give a DC break of maybe -5. After all, it should be harder to steal and ogre's greatclub than a human's. Still nearly impossible, of course, without lots and lots of circumstance modifiers. |
| Dheran03-12-07, 02:31 PM | The epic usage lets you pull a weapon one size larger than yourself. No, it lets you filch a weapon up to one size larger than yourself. The DC is the same for any valid sheathed weapon.DC 50: Lift a sheathed weapon from another creature and hide it on the character’s person, if the weapon is no more than one size category larger than the character’s own size. |
| ravenshrike03-12-07, 02:44 PM | 25-30. Since he's sleeping, you don't have to try and hide the weapon, which is what the DC50 check does. |
| ClementWillowbreaker03-12-07, 11:39 PM | No, it lets you filch a weapon up to one size larger than yourself. The DC is the same for any valid sheathed weapon. Aren't you being a little over-literal and narrow? You can't say with a straight face that it is just as hard to remove a dagger from someone's waist as it is to unsling the greatsword on their back, can you? Considering that there are only two epic usages, I doubt that it is the end-all be-all of SoH, but examples for an incredibly undetailed part of the game that no one ever sees. |
