I'm trying to find the description of the Psionic Inner Strength feat. I'm still a noob to D&D and use all the tools I can to help me build characters. I'm currently using PCGen and it has a few feats on there that are undefined. I've been able to find most of them except for "Inner Strength." I can't even find it in my Psionics handbook. Anyone know what this feat does?

Thanks in advance!

I don't have my books with me, but if you mean you have the "expanded" psionics handbook, you should also check the complete psionics book from the complete series.

The books that I have are:

Expanded Psionics Handbook & Complete Psionic.

Neither of them discuss "Inner Strength" as a feat.

In PCGen it states:

Inner Strength
TYPE:PSIONIC

Can be taken more than once. Stacks Requirements:at least 1 PsionicClass feat

Description:See text

But I'm unable to find any "text" on it.

Thanks again!

PCGen uses the 3rd edition psionics handbook, which is a waste of paper the likes of which the universe has never seen before -- and if there is a god with any sense of mercy, will never see again.

You may have noticed, for instance, that the first-level psions in PCGen don't gain the bonus feat that they do in your Expanded Psionics Handbook, and instead are listed as gaining a psicrystal (which they don't in the book either unless they use a feat for Psicrystal Affinity... which PCGen won't list).

The feat that was Inner Strength in 3.0 is Psionic Talent in 3.5. However, it granted fewer power points as Inner Strength, and certain feats and PrCs required it (such as the original version of Talented, which granted additional 0-level powers per day).

For more information on psionics in general, see the bolded links in my signature.

Awesome! Thanks a lot for the help... that makes more sense... We're currently in a modified 3.0 / 3.5 OA campaign so I use the 3.0 pcgen character set-up. Maybe if I use the PCgen 3.5 char set up it will fix this problem? I'll give it a shot. Again, thanks for the help!

I found the feat in the 3.0 psionics Handbook.
You gain 1 + (the number of times you've taken inner strength previously) PPs.
So the third time you have taken the feat you have gotten a total of 6pps from all your inner focus feats combined.
[1+(0)] + [1+(1)] + [1+(2)] = 6

Are you sure your pcgen is set to 3.5?

Tsuul,

LOL, no problem. Thanks for the info! I may have to see how the DM wants to handle it... not sure if he'll allow me to use the guidelines of 3.5 for my character creation. Otherwise I'll take note of the feat! Thanks again! Glad I found this Board. You are all great help!

Even if he insists on 3.0, do note that 3.5 psionics are still superior and can be added to 3.0 with very little adjustment (mostly power durations).

If he forces you to use 3.0 psionics, ask him what you did to him that made you deserve such hatred and contempt. It seriously is that bad -- he may as well be punching you in the teeth.

Only if he uses Psionic combat: Brain moles scare Psychic warriors silly.

He is right. Bruce Cordell wrote the the 3.0 Psionics Handbook and then wrote the Expanded Psionics Handbook to fix the mistake. When you have to produce an entirely new book to replace the existing one you know it had to suck (i.e. see 3.0 players handbook, DMs Guide, and Monster Manual)

In the current generation of PCGen (and since about 5.8) there have been two psionic sets in PCGen, SRD (3.0) and RSRD (3.5).
Well technically three, since MSRD (Modern) has one also.

I know, I coded them. I got tired of people who didn't use psionics doing the power points wrong so I did them myself.

And seriously, as several people above have stated, use the RSRD (3.5) psionics rules.
