Speeding up Item Creation [Archive] - Wizards Community

When I make a character that possesses Item Creation abilities, as well as high craft skills (On account of High intelligence and the Artifice Domain), there's still one snag; the time it takes to create most items is enormous (one or more weeks for even most simple items of 50 to 100 gp), if you have to spend one day for each thousand gp of the base price (Wondrous Items)

My question, therefore, is whether there are ways to greatly speed up the process of item creation (be they magical or nonmagical). What, do you wager, is the most effective method of doing so?

PS: Also, is it okay to include the ability to use the Epic Usage of Craft - Quick Creation - to heighten the DC of simpler items?

There is an ebberron feat that reduces time crafting by 25%.

Increasing crafting DC by 10 reduces non-magical crafting.

Yeah, but increasing the DC by 10 or more is an Epic Usage of Craft. Can non-epic character make use of it?

Also, do you happen to know the Name of this feat?

no raising the DC by 10 is non epic...check the faq/SRD on the craft skill.

Oh, yes, sorry. I've always found rules surrounding Skills hard to remember. Still, I thought increasing the DC by more than 10 is an Epic usage.

By more then 10...yes that requires a houserule that you can increase by 10 more then once or epic rules. In anycase, remember that mundane crafting back then did indeed take weeks for simple stuff.

Quick magic wise, there is the fabricate spell.

Cool, but the character I'm using doesn't have access to 5th level spells yet. I wonder. Is there a spell that gives a large bonus to one check, like true strike with attack rolls?

Dedicated wright can make items for you, or a familiar with opposable thumbs that can use your craft skill has potential. Level 2 spell from Eberron Unseen Crafter?? does craft work for you.
Headband of Intellect and an item to boost your craft skill.
Master worked tools are also a must buy.
Now if you are willing to go all out and get either the int manual or just 5 wishes and a luckstone but those take forever to pay for themselves.
Hirelings are also helpful for aid another, or if you do it right and set up a factory you could run 3 shifts benefitting from your items, pre epic you can have +6 headband, +10 skill, +2 from masterworked tools, so +18 off the start before actual skill ranks.

Spell...humm not sure on this...but you could make a item that give bonus to skill checks and that's pretty normal enough.

A bard can give bonus to skill checks.

Cool. Too bad there's no bard in the party. Do you know of any method to increase the effective Class Level for item creation?
