04-30-07, 11:32 PM This will probably not turn out to be the right place but i was wondering what people thought of a trade off between less spell levels for the spellsword and more channels coupled with an ability or feat like this:

Arcane Channel:
if casting a spell whilst holding a magical weapon add the total enhancement bonus to the damage dealt by the spell (yes only for hitpoint damaging spells)

05-01-07, 11:31 AM Generally speaking, when making a fighter/mage (gish) type build, you want to maximize your spellcasting ability, while maintaining as high a BAB as possible. For this reason, a lot of people dump out of Spellsword at 1st or 3rd level (before getting channeling at 4th). Personally, I like to go to 3rd level. At this point, you can cast in Twilight mithiril fullplate with no ASF, so (IMO) there's no reason to persue the class any further at the expense of caster levels.

Long story short, the idea could be intriguing, but many people would probably consider it too sub-optimal to actually use.
