Say I am 20 feet away from an opponent and I am moving in to attack within my 40 foot land speed, on my way in to attack if the opponent has a 10 foot threat range weapon, does he get an attack of opportunity?

Nope, that is real point behind this feat is to allow you to get in close to creatures with reach without creating an AoO. Especially size huge and bigger. Move up hit them and move 5 more feet to get your full attack the next round or move away so that they have to move 10ft and not get a full attack. 40ft of movement works pretty good most of the time. you may want a little more for even bigger than Huge.
