| Dalthbar06-26-07, 07:38 PM | You move, make an attack action then move again. Since disarming counts as an attack action, yes, that's totally valid. |
| ShinAkuma206-26-07, 08:16 PM | A personal favorite trick is a monster with Improved Grab and Spring Attack. Move in, hit with appropriate appendage, Grab, and, since a Grabber can "move (possibly carrying away the opponent), provided it can drag the opponent’s weight", move out, bringing the victim back to where the other monsters are. But that's totally off-topic. Yesh, trips, grapples, sunders, and disarms are all kinds of attacks, so you can Spring Disarm, etc. |

You can move half your speed (bringing all others engaged in the grapple with you) by winning an opposed grapple check. This requires a standard action, and you must beat all the other individual check results to move the grapple. You already made your Standard action when you grabed them, so you don't have one left. Spring Attack does not allow you to do more than one Standard Action, you are sh!t out of luck So when you try that concept: 1. Move in. 2. Take your Grab. 3. Have to move out, but can't make another grapple attack, so you are required to let go of them. 4. Move out, leaving them behind. |
| tui07-03-07, 03:13 PM | While I totally agree with tarkin that you can't pull off the Spring Attack with Improved Grab thing, it is interesting to note that there's a Monster Mayhem (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mm/20030214a) about a Feverclaw that supposedly does just that. It actually combines a charge attack, pounce, improved grab w/ drag away, and spring attack, all together in one round! :) |
| rironin07-03-07, 03:24 PM | Couldn't you do the dragging trick if you used Improved Grab with the -20 penalty to only use that appendage for the grapple? |
| jaelis07-03-07, 03:27 PM | So what is actually supposed to happen if you can't keep moving after your attack? Like you grabbed them and they don't want to be let go, or you try to trip them and they trip you back, or you just decide you'd rather not move any further and no one can change your mind? I thought maybe having you provoke an AoO from the opponent you just attacked would be reasonable. Couldn't you do the dragging trick if you used Improved Grab with the -20 penalty to only use that appendage for the grapple? I think that works. |

When a creature gets a hold after an improved grab attack, it pulls the opponent into its space. This act does not provoke attacks of opportunity. It can even move (possibly carrying away the opponent), provided it can drag the opponent’s weight. When you Grab someone, you can drag/carry him away. No check needed. |
| DrRufio07-03-07, 04:57 PM | While we are at it, can you use battle jump(UE) and spring attack together? I'm leaning towards no, but I figured I should ask. |
