I'm wondering if there's any way to use spring attack combined with standard-action martial strikes -- i.e., move 15 feet to an enemy, initiate a standard action strike, then move 15 feet back.

The feat specifies an "attack action." I suppose that what's meant is that you can use part of your move action to move 15 feet, expend a standard action for the purpose of making a mêlée attack only, then use the rest of your move action to move another 15 feet.

Standard action strikes involve an attack action, but also are somewhat different. Usually, it seems that standard action attacks are something like:

standard action --> attack action

With a strike, it's

standard action --> martial strike --> attack action + other effects.

So I'm wondering, is there any way they can be combined? Perhaps another feat? Or am I missing something, and they can actually already be combined?

Nope. Spring Attack requires an attack action which is not the same thing as a standard action. However, some martial strikes by their nature act like Spring Attack - allowing you to move, make your strike, then move again. Tiger Claw has the most of them, I think, utilizing Jump.

flyby attack allows a standard action between moving. Of course it has a small drawback of requiring a fly speed.

And you provoke an AoO unlike Spring Attack.

Actually, there's a nice martial manuever, sudden leap(which you can tumble with) as a free action, combined with say a Goliath where they can jump from a standing position with no negative..meaning you can go as many feet as you have ranks at the min. leaping 30 feet isn't too hard to do and there is a stance called leaping dragon stance that adds 10 to jump and does the same thing as the Goliath build, jumping from a standing position without a negative. Now, since this is not a move action(I suppose it can be argued) you can still take a five foot step. So leap in(tumble if need be), full attack and then take a five foot step, or leap in(tumble in, standard action) move out(tumble). You can also use bounding assult, then sudden leap away. Yes, tumble is very important(and . Later on, you can also just use Shadow blink(free), standard, shadow step(move), both of which teleport you up to 50 feet. All martial classes get jump, and warblade and swordsage both get tumble. Make use of it.
