| Hawk181601-25-08, 06:47 PM | I am making a hexblade/paladin of tyranny, so my saves are really high and I have mettle. For thematic as well as group reasons, I am a necropolitan. I believe that you add charisma to fort saves if you're undead because you have no con. Assuming this is true, does it mean you also add you charisma modifier to Will saves if you've taken Steadfast Determination? If undead with Steadfast Determination, would I add my charisma to will saves? |
| runestar01-25-08, 07:18 PM | As an undead, you have no con score, so your fort save is not affected. |
| StevenO01-25-08, 07:47 PM | No CON means nothing to modify your FORT save so it remains unchanged. If you want to apply your non-existant CON modifier to you WILL save in stead of your WIS go ahead. The only place I can think of right now where CHA replace CON for undead is when making a Concentration check. |
| Brehon01-31-08, 12:36 PM | If you want to use Cha for your Will saves, take Force of Personality. |
| jaelis01-31-08, 01:29 PM | Undead don't generally get to add their Cha modifier to their Fort saves. Your character does, but that's because he's a paladin. As such, steadfast determination won't do much for you. |
| Fallenangel35902-01-08, 08:09 AM | force of personality as the couple above poster said, won't work for a necropolitan because it only applies to willsaves against mind affecting effects, which undead are immune to. |
| Father Dale02-01-08, 10:50 AM | Steadfast Determination and Endurance (its prereq) won't do much at all for an undead creature. The only real benefit would be not failing a Fort save on a Nat 1; but given that undead are generally immune to most Fort saving effects and don't have high Fort saves anyways, this would be a minimal benefit at most. Definitely not worth a two feat investment. As said above, it will not increase your Will save any because you have no Con score. Unless maybe you have a negative wisdom mod? In any event, Force of Personality would be what you would want to apply your Cha mod to your Will save instead of your Wis mod. HOWEVER, this only applies for "mind-effecting effects," and as a Necropolitan, and thus an undead, you are immune to mind effecting effects. Thus, Force of Personality would have no benefit to you. Your best bet for improving your Will save would probably be Iron Will. |
