| TheRealOrion08-29-07, 01:48 PM | Character is: Swashbuckler 3 Fighter 3 Lasher 5 The feats I have now are: Combat Expertise Exotic Weapon: quickblade rapier Exotic Weapon: whip -Weapon Focus: whip -Weapon Specialization: whip ("Lashing Whip") Improved Disarm (Lasher) Improved Initiative Quickdraw Weapon Finesse (Swashbuckler) Swashbuckler grants Insightful Strike (Intelligence modifiers applies to damage rolls against creatures with anatomy) and gives the whip a threatened range of 5 feet. The Lasher grants +2d6 sneak attack with the whip. I've just gained a level, which means I can apply it to Lasher, which grants Improved Trip, and it's 12th level so I can take a free feat. I'm looking hard at Combat Reflexes (bonus AofOs) and Improved Critical (whip goes to 17-20/x2). I can also apply it to Fighter, and get a more open selection, and take Dodge/Mobility or some other feat tree. Are there any obscure/exotic feats you all can suggest for this character? (More info on the character available, if it'll help.) |
| Arkeas08-29-07, 03:19 PM | I would take a level of fighter, for two reasons. 1) Then, you will legally have weapon specialization, seeing as a prerequisite is four levels of fighter. 2) You can then get the "Daring Warrior" feat from complete scoundrel. Your swashbuckler levels and fighter levels stack for some cool class bonuses. Also, it appears that your main weapon is the whip, which does not threaten any area, making Combat Reflexes somewhat useless. Unless, of course, you get around this somehow, like with your prestige class I didn't bother to look up. |
| Spiritbear08-29-07, 08:06 PM | well I would personaly go with Improved crit but thats me and if ya want anything for pure dramatic flair snatch weapon is a fun one. |
| Johnny_Angel08-29-07, 08:12 PM | Combat Reflexes later on take Robilar's Gambit from Player's Handbook 2 |
| VulcanStormwrath08-29-07, 08:18 PM | Dodge/Mobility tree leads to a ruthlessly wide-ranged whirlwind attack. If the whip you're using does bludgeoning look into the Knockback enhancement. Combine it with combat reflexes, find some high ground and you're unapproachable. |
