| NeueRegel07-26-07, 12:23 PM | I can't find the core (3.5) ruling for if/that you can use either hand (normal human) for your choice to take your AoO. I know you can go first with either in the attack sequence, but suddenly can't find anything saying you choose which weapon for an AoO you get. Somebody be kind enough to point it out for me, please. TIA Neue |

You make your attack of opportunity, however, at your normal attack bonus—even if you’ve already attacked in the round. |

However, when you just make one attack (like in an AoO) either hand can be the primary hand because you aren't making a second attack. Don't think of the off-hand as the "left hand" that is always the off-hand, but think of it as "the secondary hand in a full attack" that can change depending on how you need to fight. |

I play that you threaten with both weapons, but you have to declare one to be off-hand, and for that weapon you take a -4 penalty (and do half Str damage). The FAQ seems to suggest that you can use either weapon for an AoO, and you take no penalties. |

You will have to take it up with your DM, but if you are the DM then choose the way you would prefer it to work. There is not really a core ruling on it either way, but the FAQ suggests you can just make up which hand is your off-hand whenever you want to on a new turn (so basically everyone is ambidextrous except when they start TWF without the TWF feat). |
