hey all, i know that there must already be a thread about this somewhere, but i don't have time to go searching for it. Anyways i know i have heard of a feat called supreme cleave which allows a 5 ft step between cleave attempts but i can't seem to find it. Could someone tell me where i can find this?

It's not a feat - it's a class ability of the Frenzied Berzerker prestige class.

And it doesn't let you surpass the "only 1 5' step per round" limit as well - so you're not able to hopscotch across the battlegrid cleaving away.

The Knight Protector prestige class from Complete Warrior allows you to make a 5-foot step between every cleave attempt.

the knight protector does say you can take a 5ft step between attacks while useing cleave or great cleave so i take it is between every attack. high enough and with a great wepon you could go and kill 100 orcs in one round as one

Does it say anywhere that it allows you to overcome the "only one 5' step per round" limit that exists on movement?

If not, then you can't.

Just to drop the relevant language, per the SRD: (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsInCombat.htm#take5FootStep)
You can move 5 feet in any round when you don’t perform any other kind of movement. Taking this 5-foot step never provokes an attack of opportunity. You can’t take more than one 5-foot step in a round, and you can’t take a 5-foot step in the same round when you move any distance.

 Really funny mental image.

I would have to say the writer got lazy or the editor/layout person said cut the text when they got to the Knight Protector. I would rule that they both have to work the same way 1 5-foot step per round.

Hahaha, killing 100 orcs in 6 seconds.....that's ridiculous. No, you cannot take more than one 5ft step per round.

It is still a very good ability when fighting large numbers of low-levelled monsters.

ie: if you (a medium creature, i assume) are weilding a weapon with 5ft reach and are surrounded by countless orcs (medium creatures) and you have Great Cleave you can kill a maximum of 9 orcs with a single attack, whereas if you have Supreme Cleave you can kill a maximum of 13 orcs with a single attack (if you take a 5ft step diagonally).

master samurai from sword and fist gets it too. every campaign i have someone ask... do you have to be focused on a katana to be a master samurai? lol

I have never seen the point in catering a character to fighting much lower level monsters. chances are, that campaign would get boring.

except for the gestalt campaign i am playing in, the first time we have come up against a swarm of goblins and they are all 4 hd pllus 4 class levels.. at least and use swarm fighting and a bunch will stack up in one square and they all get +1 cumulative attack bonus on their crossbow attacks for EACH goblin firing at the same time. however, this one instance in the entire campaign does not merit 2 feats in my opinion.

But the mental imagery just makes me think uber goblins from magic the gathering.
