Hi,

I know this is Skills & Feats, but it seemed more appropriate to post this here rather than races or classes. Anyway, I'm wondering if there is any precedent for willfully suppressing a supernatural ability. I'm thinking specifically of the Freedom of Movement granted by the Travel domain. According to the description, it sounds like it turns on and off as it applies, automatically. Since FoM lets you move through water like air, does this mean that falling into a 30-foot deep lake will result in a 30 foot drop? Thanks.

You have misread Freedom of Movement. You do not drop like a stone, you swim normally.

It does not let you ignore the water. It lets you move and attack normally.

Normal means without penalties.

Without resistance, not without water boyancy (the physics term that describes the ability to float).

Thanks, Tarkin. Anyone else have any comments? Thanks.
