With the ability to critical a creature from the rangers' selected Favored Enemy, how would this apply if you were to take Favored Enemy - Humanoid (Human), and your human opponent has heavy fortification on his armor?

My first inclination was to say that it did not apply as the non-critical bonus from heavy fortification is granted from an item, and not an innate ability of the creature/opponent in question.

However, I wanted to post and see what everyone else thought about it.

Thanks!

I would say that the person would still be able to negate the critical's and/or sneak attacks, skirmish, sudden strike damage. This is because you can already crit humans, however, this is a magical special ability affecting the armor. It is not a racial trait, such as constructs, oozes, and plants. Hope this helps!
