Turning the three Talentan weapons into Martial weapons seems redundant given that they're already Martial if you're from Talenta, but the +1 to damage while mounted seems like it would fit my mounted ranger, and being able to share weapon feats between the reach weapon Sharrash and the close combat Tangat would make things a bit more versatile. Opinions? |

Opinions? Personally, I don't think +1 to damage while fulfilling a special condition (being mounted) is worth a feat. Seems like it would be better spent on ride-by attack or spirited charge. |
| Loki565405-20-07, 04:01 AM | Just curious if anyone's played around with this Eberron based feat. I have. I found it to be a good choice for a character that focuses on mounted combat. However, I took it mostly for character reasons and not for the mechanical advantages. It was a role-play choice, not a roll-play choice for me. YMMV. Turning the three Talentan weapons into Martial weapons seems redundant given that they're already Martial if you're from Talenta, The "Region of Origin" rules presented in the ECS (starting on page 24) are specifically stated as being options. Thus, it is up to the DM whether to allow them or not. If your DM allows them, then yes it neuters the feat. If your DM doesn't, then the feat allows you to give your character more Talenta flavor. but the +1 to damage while mounted seems like it would fit my mounted ranger, and being able to share weapon feats between the reach weapon Sharrash and the close combat Tangat would make things a bit more versatile. Opinions? Don't forget the utility of being able to make ranged attacks with boomerangs. My personal opinion is that a character does not need to be mechanically "optimal" to be playable or fun. If you feel the feat is the right choice for your character, then take it. |
