In order to allow for characers (mostly NPCs at this point, but PCs can do it, too) to specialize in one spell, using as their "signature" spell, I want to make a variation on the Spell Focus that increases save DC on a particular spell rather that a school of magic. I have two possible solutions, which are very similar.

1) No prerequisites. Just a straight +1 DC, stacking with spell focus.
2) Requires Spell Focus in the corresponding school. Adds +2 DC that stacks with Spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus.

From a game balance perspective, is +1 DC that stacks with the Spell Focuses a disruption? Or a +2, for that matter?

Arcane Thesis?

Doesn't boost DC but boosts a lot of other things in relation to the spell. Just as Weapon Focus leads to Weapon Specialization, Arcane Thesis is distinct from, but related to, Spell Focus.

From a game balance perspective, anything that boosts DCs is dangerous. There's a reason roughly 85% of the former DC boosters now boost caster level -- the remaining DC increases ae powerful enough and easy to use together.
