(The Beastmaster levels stack with the Druid levels +3 for purposes of determining the abilities of the animal companion.) Now, also in CompAdv, there is a feat called Natural Bond that adds three to the PC's effective level for determining the special abilities of the animal companion, only this time it specifies that the bonus levels cannot exceed the character level. (Where as the Beastmaster PrC has no such limit.) Now, what I want to know is which comes into effect first. Does the feat come first, then the PrC ability allow it to exceed the character level? Or is it pointless to add the feat on top of the PrC's class ability? |

Or is it pointless to add the feat on top of the PrC's class ability? It stacks in the most beneficial manner. Assuming it works like practiced spell caster. It can potentially get rid of the penalty for using a higher grade companion. |

(For example if you took the PrC quite late on in level, and/or had several levels of another class.) However, there is no reason that you could not take it for one of your other companions: improving your effective druid level for that companion's abilities. |
