| TiwazTyrsfist06-27-07, 07:23 PM | This thread is intended as a tie-in to The Incarnum Guide (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=748856), as a place for new Incarnum feats, or incarnum related feats. To start off, here's a couple Incarnum feats for use primarily in the Eberron setting. Incarnate Warforged [Warforged, Incarnum] (warforged body feat) Req:Warforged, Level 1 (like other body feats) The appearance of the first Incarnate Warforged was a great shock, and a great mystery, to everyone. Particularly House Cannith. A mystery that's driving Merrix d'Cannith mad. Perhaps three dozen in number at the most recent count, the eldest Incarnate Warforged can't be more than two years old, a truth that Cannith is rapidly working to obscure. So far, of the 3 dozen known incarnate warforged, two dozen have been traced back to Sharn. However several seem to have wandered out of the mourneland, and rather than the brilliant blue meld plates of the others, they are wrapped in an armor of inky swirling darkness, and a perpetual chill mist. System:You loose the composite plating and light fortification racial features. You gain the ability to shape a special soulmeld, Incarnate Plate. This grants +1 AC and a 25% chance to ignore the extra damage from sneak attacks and critical hits. The armor bonus increases by 1 for each point of essential invested in this soulmeld. You may invest 1 point in this meld even if you could not normally invest essentia in a meld. Chakrabinds (slot open to suggestion) Shoulder: Increases the chance to ignore sneak attacks and crits by 5% per point of essentia invested. Heart (Soul?): When shapped and bound, you can add armor enchantment equal to the amount of essentia invested. I.E. If you have 3 essentia invested, you can cause the armor to emulate armor enchants totalling a +3 bonus, such as greater blurring (+3 total) or energy immunity (+2) and Ghost warding (+1). The warforged gains an essentia reserve of 1. Azure Dragonmark Prereq: Any True Dragonmark Your Dragonmark is infused with the power of Incarnum, darkening to a mix of cobalt blue and purple. You gain the ability to shape a single soulmeld, based on your dragonmark, and invest it with essentia based on the strength of your dragonmark [I]Detection: Keeneye Lenses Finding: Truthseeker Goggles Handling: Beast Tamer Circlet Healing: Lifebond Vestments Hospitality: Silvertongue Mask Making: Mage Spectacles Passage: Blink Shirt Scribing: Soulspeaker Circlet Sentinel: Bloodwar Gauntlets Shadow: Fellmist Robe Storm: Lightning Gauntlets Warding: Adamant Pauldrons You may invest essentia in these melds once shaped, even if you normally couldn't. Your maximum essentia investment is either your normal max or based on your dragonmark strength, whichever is higher. Least: 1 Lesser: 2 Greater: 3 Siberys: 4 You gain 1 essentia. |

| Isida Kep'Tukari07-20-07, 07:37 PM | And lo, there was Incarnum in Eberron, and the players of such looked upon it and found it fair. Man, the Incarnum Body warforged feat would have thrown the Question of Souls at the Treaty of Thronehold for a loop. Actually... that would make an adventure in an of itself! If warforged can be created infused with the raw power of the soul-stuff of the multiverse, they MUST have souls themselves! Or do they? |
| TiwazTyrsfist07-21-07, 05:47 PM | Yeah, my personal fluff for this is that these incarnum forged are Litterally just appearing. As in, within the last six months, gametime wise. The other important part of the arguement would be about undead. Because undead, even mindless undead, who are generally regarded as being soulless, can have an incarnum pool. All sorts of interesting arguements there. |
| Linkrulesx1007-22-07, 04:20 AM | The incarnum forged seemed kinda weak, maybe te base AC bonus should be 2? But over all it seems fine. |

Note that you can invest essentia in the feat, and you get a bonus essentia from the feat. So you get one free essentia to invest in the feat. For every essentia invested, the AC bonus increases by one. So, if you invest the free essentia in the feat, it's 2 AC. And, at higher levels when you can invest more essentia, you can invest up to 5 essentia, for a 6 AC bonus. 4 higher than a normal warforged. |
| alchemyprime07-22-07, 09:54 PM | Yeah... but there is a problemma... with the Psiforged Body feat, there was a way to make it uber-powerful: Psionic Talent feats. They can be taken repeatedly. Bonus Essentia, you cannot IIRC. So, unless they take a few levels in incarnate or totemist, this feat will only be able to give a benefit of +3 AC, +4 if they take Shape SOulmeld. So, I propose a secondary feat, making this into a feat tree, much like Mythril Body and Mythril Fluidity. Midnight Body: PreRequisites: Azure Warforged Benefit: You gain Damage Reduction 1/magic and targath for each point of essentia invested in your composite plating. You gain 2 points of essentia. Just a thought. |
| TiwazTyrsfist07-23-07, 04:23 PM | So, every single Incarnum Feat grants a bonus essentia. And the only requirement of most of them is Con 13. So, if you take four incarnum feats, you have a pool of four essentia, even if you never learn to meldshape. Also, I kind of assume that anyone who takes Azure Forged body (or what ever I've called it) plans on taking meldshaper levels of some sort. That aside, I like Midnight Body, but perhaps nerf/moded slightly. Midnight Body Prerequisites: Incarnum Forged Body Benefits: You gain Damage Reduction equal to 2 + Essentia / Magic, where Essentia is the ammount of essentia invested in IFB. You gain 1 point of essentia. |
