So let's say I am playing an Ultimate Magus who specializes in Fire magic (the element isn't important, just the mechanics). I take Elemental Theurgy (it adds my caster levels together for fire-based spells). How do I calculate my caster level for all my fire spells. It seems to me that my caster level would go up way to fast and easy. Am I doing something wrong? What about if I have an ioun stone that increases my caster level? Does it apply before or after I add my caster levels together for the Theurgic feat. If I also had Practiced Spellcaster, how would that affect any of this? I haven't built the character yet because these questions are plaguing me. I am trying not to create a broken character, but I do want him to be very good at what he does.
