I was reading about a feat that allows the character to release a number of small weapons all at once. Does anyone know the name of this feat? Thanks.

The Palm throw ability from the Master Thrower PrC lets you shoot two small light weapons at a time.

Is there a feat that allows you to throw weapons that cannot normally be thrown?

Just to clarify, that's the Throw Anything feat from CW.

Thanx.
Do you by any chance know exactly what that feat allows you to do? Is the range increment 10ft? Can you throw 2h weapons?

I believe the feat allow you to throw anything with a range of 10 ft. Hence the reason the feat is named "Throw Anything". So yes to 2H weapons.

My recollection of the feat is that you need to be proficient with the weapon being thrown, which means no improvised weapons... which makes the "Throw Anything" feat name a bit of a misnomer, in my opinion.

Well, that's why the Hulking Hurler ability is Really Throw Anything.

Actually, you can use anything as a weapon even if your are not proficient with it. Even if you don't have the feats for it. For instance, a bard can carry around a greatsword provided he has the strength. However, he cannot wield it effectively taking a minus to attack for using it.

This rule applies to the Throw Anything feat. It means anything that you choose to hurl, whether it be a short sword or a baby, has a range of 10 ft. but the proficiency with that weapon affects your to-hit.

Ok, just to clarify..

You really CAN throw anything.. a battle axe, two-handed sword, barrel, whatever. But if it isn't designed for throwing, you suffer a -4 attack penalty. See:
Thrown Weapons: Daggers, clubs, shortspears, spears, darts, javelins, throwing axes, light hammers, tridents, shuriken, and nets are thrown weapons. The wielder applies his or her Strength modifier to damage dealt by thrown weapons (except for splash weapons). It is possible to throw a weapon that isn’t designed to be thrown (that is, a melee weapon that doesn’t have a numeric entry in the Range Increment column on Table: Weapons), but a character who does so takes a –4 penalty on the attack roll. Throwing a light or one-handed weapon is a standard action, while throwing a two-handed weapon is a full-round action. Regardless of the type of weapon, such an attack scores a threat only on a natural roll of 20 and deals double damage on a critical hit. Such a weapon has a range increment of 10 feet.
If you try to wield a weapon you're not proficient with, you suffer a -4 non-proficiency penalty. So the question is, if you try to THROW a weapon you're not proficient with, that isn't designed for throwing, does the -4 non-proficiency penalty stack with the -4 throwing penalty? I'd say yes.

So if that's the case, and you've got the Throw Anything feat, you either take a -8 penalty to throw a weapon that you're not proficient with (Throw Anything doesn't do anything for you in this case), or you attack with no penalty if you are proficient.

At least that's how I'm reading things.

Now, an interesting aside is this:

Improvised Weapons: Sometimes objects not crafted to be weapons nonetheless see use in combat. Because such objects are not designed for this use, any creature that uses one in combat is considered to be nonproficient with it and takes a –4 penalty on attack rolls made with that object. To determine the size category and appropriate damage for an improvised weapon, compare its relative size and damage potential to the weapon list to find a reasonable match. An improvised weapon scores a threat on a natural roll of 20 and deals double damage on a critical hit. An improvised thrown weapon has a range increment of 10 feet.
So that means Throw Anything can't apply to improvised weapons, since they've already got range increments... And it means that it's easier to throw a barrel, bottle, ladder, or whatever, than it is to throw that battle axe or short sword. I guess that sort of makes sense, since you've got to hit with the business-side of the weapon to be really effective, but just need to HIT with the improvised weapon. But frankly I'd rather not get hit with the pommel of a two-handed sword, either. It seems to me you should be able to throw a standard weapon and attack and do damage as an improvised weapon, if you wanted..

The throw anything feat is cool, but what I do is enchant a weapon with Distant shot from the epic level handbook I think. What it does is it allows any weapon with a range incriment to hit any enemy in sight.
