Tools of War is an ability that a Warforged Artificer can gain by using a substitution level described in Races of Eberron. Aside from a minor heal every time he casts infusions on constructs, the ability makes XP used from the Art's craft reserve to count double for the purposes of creating magical weapons, armor, or constructs, but it also states "to add a magical effect to any construct or living construct (including himself)".

That last bit is what I'm having trouble with. Warforged can use "components", which are magical items that attach to the Warforged's body. The question then is, does Tools of War grant double XP when crafting components?

And just for completeness...would Schemas etched into the Warforged's body also get double XP from Tools of War when creating them?

My thoughts.

Does it require the craft magic arms and armor feat?
If so, yes.
If not, no.

Note, armblade, armbow, and battlefist all require the craft magic arms and armor feat for creation.
