In the BoVD, an executioner gets a profession check to determine how well the kill went. ok, that's fair. But then, a torturer gets only a circumstance bonus to an Intimidate check?! That hardly seems credible. The rationale is that all torture is used to extract information from the victim, using the implements to sway the poor sap into spilling the info. before his own lifeblood is spilt as well. However, I think that torture should be a skill in it's own right, not just a tool to get information. My justification for this is the idea of a sadist, who tortures for the sheer thrill of inflicting pain on his victim, not just to get information out of the victim. What do you think? All feedback is welcome.

I think the rationale is that a torturer wouldn't have to buy ranks separately in Intimidate and Profession (Torturer).
Feel free to houserule differently. But there had better be a synergy bonus.
