| DeathLock10-26-07, 02:56 AM | 10 fighter / 1 exotic weapon master If I use the spiked chain (+2 to trip attempts) and I get the Improved Trip Feat (+4 to trip attempts) then I also get Trip Attack Special ability from the exotic weapon master which gives a (+2 to trip attempts), would all these skill increasers stack for a (+8)? |
| FrostHammer10-26-07, 03:02 AM | Yes |
| DeathLock10-26-07, 03:05 AM | I forgot to mention that for the exotic weapon master, the trip attack only gives you the +2 bonus if your using a weapon that allows tripping already if not then it gives you the ability to trip with your weapons without a bonus. Not sure if that matters... |
| Leress10-26-07, 03:26 AM | Still, yes. |
| BruceLeeroy10-26-07, 04:08 AM | Chain, Spiked A spiked chain has reach, so you can strike opponents 10 feet away with it. In addition, unlike most other weapons with reach, it can be used against an adjacent foe. You can make trip attacks with the chain. If you are tripped during your own trip attempt, you can drop the chain to avoid being tripped. When using a spiked chain, you get a +2 bonus on opposed attack rolls made to disarm an opponent (including the roll to avoid being disarmed if such an attempt fails). You can use the Weapon Finesse feat to apply your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to attack rolls with a spiked chain sized for you, even though it isn’t a light weapon for you. As you can see, the spiked chain gives a +2 to disarm, not tripping. Unless of course, you use the sweeping special ability from MIC. Edit: Also, if you threw a level of barbarian in there at 1st (presuming you haven't made the character already) you could take Wolf Lodge (Complete Warrior?) for another +4 to trip. Also, Battle Jump from Unapproachable East gives an optional +4 (size) to trip attempts. Another 1st level feat (regional). And don't forget your Armbands of Might for an additional +2. |
