I wanted to build a character around tripping people and smacking them while they were on the floor or something like that but I cant exactly find any feats that would help me with this except improve trip and the Bear Fang style, Hammers Edge Style or High Sword Low Axe Style. If anyone has any suggestions on any other feats, classes, weapons, or things to do while they are prone they would be much appreciated.

Spiked Chains are popular...

Also, Combat Reflexes will let you take attacks when they try to stand up (in addition to the normal 1 AoO you would get anyway I mean).

I agree using a spiked chain with combat reflexes and improved trip with this combination you own all of the space within ten feet of you. Anyone who tries to go by, you can trip them then take the attack for damage.

Here is a fun series of attack.

1st AoO for leaving a threaten space make a trip attack. If successeful take attack for damage at +4 for target being prone.

2nd AoO for if target tries to stand in the same round another attack for damage at +4.

Here are the few I can find.

Fighter-20: The "Gatling Chain Gun" Tripper (Snow Savant) (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=163005)

Lester the Molester (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=694016&highlight=lester+the+molester) - not really tripping-oriented, but can be readily modified.

Jack be Quick (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=646185&highlight=Jack+be+quick) - think you will be very interested in this.

There is a tripping enchantment (+1 equivalent) in the MIC that gives you a +2 bonus on trip attempts.

Armbands of Might give a +2 bonus on all strength checks, of which a trip attempt is one.

Steadfast boots give you a +4 bonus to avoid getting tripped if your trip attempt fails.

The Elusive Target feat from Complete Warrior lets you make a free trip attempt on anyone who makes an AoO against you and misses.

Any thing that increases your size improves your ability to trip (enlarge person, psionic expansion, polymorph, shapechange, powerful build, etc).

Reach (usually by spiked chain or guisarme) and combat reflexes is always good.

Using Martial Study or a dip into Swordsage can get you some very neat things to do with trip attempts. "Neat" as in throw someone up 30 feet into the air with a trip attempt made with a +4 bonus, and you get your free attack from Imp. Trip when the body hits the floor. Of course, you'll only be able to use each maneuver about once in each fight, and they can't be combined with full attacks, but it makes a fantastic finishing move.

The trip maneuvers are all in the Setting Sun discipline, from the Tome Of Battle. They can also throw people horizontally (e.g., of a cliff or into a wall of fire) with a trip check. They're better to pick up as a kind of capstone to your build, since they don't synergize with full attacks, and at higher levels you can grab better versions of the throwing maneuvers (even without any Swordsage levels).

For the trip-loving characters there's also the Curling Wave Strike feat in Stormwrack.

I wrote this feat that you (if you/your DM is willing to allow homebrewed material) might like.

IMPROVED MARTIAL THROW [Fighter]
You can expertly throw your foes to the ground.
Prerequisites Dex 19, Improved Unarmed Strike, Martial Throw, Improved Trip
Benefit If you succeed your grapple check when using Martial Throw you may, as a free action, make a Trip attack. Alternatively, if you succeed on your grapple check, you not only switch places but also provoke Attacks of Opportunity on both yourself and your opponent.

(Note: Martial Throw can be found in the MH).

3 levels of factotum will let you add your Intelligence modifier to checks based on Strength or Dexterity, which can be very handy for improving trip checks. It'll also improve your initiative, which lets you catch your target unawares. ("Flat-footed touch AC" is just about my favorite D&D phrase.)

That's only very handy if you have a good Int bonus, which means introducing MAD into the build.

Three levels of Cleric or Psychic Warrior would be better, to get access to enlarge person or expansion. That only requires a Wisdom of 11, gives a total +5 to Trip attempts, increases your reach, and increases your weapon damage.
