| Linkrulesx1008-27-07, 05:55 AM | After my previous thread asking people their opinions on a truenamer fix and consulting my gaming table and comparing the Truenamers effectiveness to the rest of the party and play testing with the current implemented fix and then tweaking it I have decided to post the fix I am using. Truenamer Fix: DC for truespeak is as follows: DC = 14 + 2 times utterance level + CR To speak defensively is now a concentration check The universe can hear just fine is replaced by a –4 penalty to Truespeak, you can also whisper an utterance but take the same penalty Also Pronouncing a creatures personal Truename is easier then trying to pin point them out, knowing a creatures personal Truename comes with the following benefits: You gain a + 2 bonus on Truespeak checks against the creature You gain a + 4 bonus to over come its spell resistance The save DC's of your utterances against that target increase by two You automatically know if the creature is alive or did by spending a swift action and saying their Truename (Equivalent 1st level utterance) The Truenamer also gains the ability to effect multiple creatures of the same type. At level 8 they are able to target two creatures, this functions identically to name the masses however the limit is two. Every three levels thereafter they increase their maximum number of targets by one, until level 17 when they gain speak to the masses. How does this compare to what people use? |
