| Phase07-16-07, 01:40 AM | Are there any 3.5 feats that allow you to attack twice with spring attack?(edit:with TWF) And more so, rapid blitz? |
| Hammersoul07-16-07, 07:58 AM | It is a class feature of the Tempest prestige class (Complete Adventurer pag. 81) |
| Demonwrecker07-16-07, 03:37 PM | There IS a feat in the PHII that allows an off-hand attack in addition to the primary hand attack on a spring attack. Unfortunately, I do not have my books with me now so cannot remember the damn feat name. Check it out. |
| calvinNhobbes07-16-07, 04:20 PM | The PHBII feat is called Bounding Assault I believe. |
| Twylyght07-16-07, 05:39 PM | PHII Yep, Bounding assault - 2 attacks Also, Rapid blitz - 3 attacks then like said above, theres 5 levels of tempest if you into that kind of thing |
| BugHunter07-16-07, 07:46 PM | You can also use Dual Strike CAd page 108. |
| Twylyght07-16-07, 09:22 PM | I think dual strike leads around to the "standard action" vs "attack action" debate. That said, I'd prob let it slide. I would still go with the bounding assault if for no other reason than to qualify for the blitz later. |
| WolfHati07-17-07, 01:16 AM | Bounding assault + tempest is really nice though. They multiply if I read it correctly. |
| Twylyght07-17-07, 01:55 AM | hmm, on a pure technical level.... I thnik your on to something. Advance it to Rapid blitz, and I think you can argue you get 6 attacks to split up between up to 5 targets (the two attacks from tempest look like they go to the same target) so long as you can reach them all with your movement. Toss in Two Weapon Rend for some extra fun. You almost have "dervish dance light" stated out. |
| Big_Mac07-17-07, 09:41 AM | PHII Yep, Bounding assault - 2 attacks Also, Rapid blitz - 3 attacks then like said above, theres 5 levels of tempest if you into that kind of thing These are based on BAB attacks not TWF. Tempest feature is the only one that allows you to attack with you off hand as part of a standard action. |
| Twylyght07-17-07, 03:40 PM | These are based on BAB attacks not TWF. Tempest feature is the only one that allows you to attack with you off hand as part of a standard action. True, but there is no reason you cant choose to take the extra attack with your other hand(or anyhting else available to attack with) if you wanted too, if you are willing to bite the penalty. **This part purely opinion, house rules, caution** Since it wouldnt be true"two weapon" fighting, I would let them choose to use the "off hand" with this feat as a main hand attack, since it is based on BAB. I go by the concept that "two-weapon" fighting is actually anything past what your normal full attack + other abilities allow. So if a fighter with a BAB of +11 wanted to use a mace in each hand not claim extra attacks from it, I would let them split the 3 attacks(+11/+6/+1) between the hands at no penalty. Giving up your shield to look cool is penalty enough. |
