Reasons: 1 Limited to shield in the off-hand 2 Heavy shields are at the same penalties as light shields, IIRC 3 Lower prerequisites, IIRC (please correct inaccuracies) It seems to me that this feat was specifically designed so plate wearers could dump Dex to a minimal extent and still shield bash somewhat effectively. If your character qualifies for Two-Weapon Fighting, I see no reason to nerf yourself with Agile Shield Fighter vs Two Weapon Fighting.

It says so in the benefit or special paragraph of the description. But Agile Shield Fighter, like Improved Toughness, doesn't substitute for the similar feat.

TWF is a bicth for stat requirements.

One : You need to take Imp Shield Bash or you lose the AC bonus from the shield when you attack with it. Two : If I were DMing I'd allow ASF to meet PrC prereqs as TWF but not allow ITWF/GTWF. OTOH, I'd have an IASF and GASF feat so it would be moot.
