I just tried posting this, but something broke between here and the web.

Okay, if I have a character with two weapons, and somebody provokes an AoO from me, do I get to choose which weapon I use? Even if the offhand one is a better chance to hit? Or I want the lesser one for damage reasons? etc.

I have +6 for Combat Reflexes, and this comes up alot.

You get to choose any weapon that threatens the opponent.

For example, if you are fighting TWF with Armor Spikes and a Spiked Chain, if the opponent is 10ft away you must use the Spiked Chain, but if they are 5ft away you can use either weapon.

I dont think it specifies.

If you are holding a weapon with your off-hand only, you still threaten squares, right?

If so, you threaten squares with both the primary and the off hand when TWF. (I dont mean to imply that you could get more than one AoO per opportunity though.)

Since you threaten with both your primary and your off hand, it would seem that it is entirely up to you which one you use to make it.

When you're not two weapon fighting, you can still make any attack in your attack routine with any weapon you have available. If you have attacks at +12/+7/+2, then you can attack once with the longsword in your right hand, once with the shortsword in your left hand, and once with the armor spikes on your shoulder. If somebody provokes an attack of opportunity from you, you can use any weapon you have available to make that attack. You threaten with every weapon you wield, even if you wield it in your off hand (this counts armor spikes).

Just remember that you always take a -4 penalty to attacks made with your off hand, whether or not you're two weapon fighting (Player's Handbook page 311). The standard two weapon fighting penalties take this into account, of course.
