Can intelligent undead benefit from longterm care?

Yes.

Intelligent undead have no restrictions on how they heal naturally and long term care makes no mention of restrictions based on creature type.

Do intelligent undead have to "sleep" to regain HP?
Deep Blue 9000

No.

Although undead are incapable of sleep, Long-Term care only requires that the character "rest" which is different from sleep.

God how I like to make intelligent undead NPC.

There is this friend of mine that will roleplay an Necropolitan wizard NPC lv 6, and he has 62 hp, and has undead matyr at his side...so that is shield other spell...which means half damage...^ ^

Also they are harmed by healing spells, but they can regain hp by resting just like living creatures.
