| xTimx07-03-07, 07:42 PM | i searched for this one, but couldnt come up with a specific answer. i have a hard time understanding this feat. says: if you successfully hit an opponent with both of the weapons you weild, you deal extra damage equal to 1d6 + 1 1/2 times your str. bonus. the extra damage is treated as the same type that your off-hand weapon deals normally for the purpose of overcoming damaga reduction and other effects related to damage type. you can gain this extra damage once per round against a given opponent. so if i have a str. of 19, and i'm weilding 2 rapiers, i do 1d6+4 for damage for primary and 1d6+3 (rounded up) for offhand. says that if i hit with both hands, then i can do that extra damage. and this is where i get confused. do i add another 1d6+3 to both my attacks that i just made? do i just add a +3 to the next attacks that i land against the given opponent? or what do i do here?? please help me understand all this. |
| andinel07-03-07, 07:55 PM | If you successfully hit and deal damage with both of your rapiers, roll another 1d6+6 (for Str 19) damage for the rend. This would mean that you get a total of 3d6+13 damage if you hit with 2 attacks, 1 with each rapier. |
| sensestaker07-03-07, 07:56 PM | When wielding 2 rapiers with a strength of 19 and no damage boosting feats you deal 1d6+4 with your primary hand per attack, 1d6+4 with your off hand per attack, and an additional 1d6+6 with your rend if you hit at least once with each hand. The extra damage, over coming DR, blahblahblah means that even if you have an epic XXX rapier in your primary hand, your rend doesn't get any of those bonuses unless your offhand weapon has them too. |

Str 19 = +4 Bonus Main hand Rapier damage: 1d6+4 Off hand Rapier damage: 1d6 +2 (I'm not sure why you rounded up to +3, both because +3 is not half of any of the nubers invovled and because you always round down in DnD) Rend Damage (if one or more attacks from each hand hit the same target): 1d6 +6 Jack |
| xTimx07-03-07, 08:07 PM | so if you hit say 4 times 2 on your primary and 2 on your off hand. that should be 1d6+4 for your primary 1d6+4 for your offhand plus 1d6+6 for the rend? and the last two hits you would be doing 2d6+10? (cause its added onto the 1d6+4?) or just 1d6+4 for the regular hits that you made? does the extra damage dice get counted on after each consecutive hit that you made after your first 2 hits? |

You only get the rend damage once per round per opponent. If your 4 attacks with rapiers at +4 str mod all hit the same guy, total damage would be: 1d6+4 1d6+4 1d6+2 1d6+2 1d6+6 (rend damage) All damage would count as peircing for overcoming daamge reduction. Jack P.S. I realize you were replying to sensestaker's post, but his numbers appear to be incorrect as well. |
| xTimx07-03-07, 08:18 PM | ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok haha that makes more sense now! thank you. so rend does not get added onto your dmg dice at each hit. rend is just a dmg in itself at 1d6+6. i gots it now. thank you very much! :) very helpful |
