I'm looking for ideas for expanded uses for the alchemy skill. I'm going to be playing a witch in a game with bonuses to alchemy who brews up stuff in a cauldron. I'll have brew potion, but I'd like to do some stuff with just alchemy. Any ideas, or does anyone know a source somewhere for this?

I don't know of any expanded uses for the Alchemy skill beyond crafting alchemical items, but there are tons of those available; most splat books include a few alchemical items in their equipment chapters. I'd suggest just digging through every book you have access to, and compiling a list of the items you're interested in making. The Eggshell Grenade weapons in the Oriental Adventures book are a favorite of mine, and Alchemical Weapon Capsules (in Complete Adventurer) are incredibly useful. The Arms and Equipment Guide is just chock-full of alchemical items as well.

Just thought of an expanded use: rules in the BoVD say you can substitute Craft (Alchemy) for Craft (Poisonmaking), though you take a -4 penalty. Still, pretty useful.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions. I was racking my brain for ideas of things that would be 'witchy'. These are some of the ideas:

Moon's Bane: DC 15 Craft (Alchemy). When taken by a woman, this black elixir prevents conception for 1 week.

Mother's Blessing: DC 15 Craft (Alchemy) When taken by a woman, this amber elixir enhances the chance of pregnancy for 1 week.

Moondust: DC 25 Craft (Alchemy) This silvery powder glows when added to water. It provides a bright silvery light that illuminates clearly a 30 ft radius and provides shadowy illumination up to 60 ft. (basically sunrod changed for flavor).

Perfume of desire: DC 20 Craft (Alchemy) This floral frangrance provides a +1 bonus on your next Charisma Check.
