warlock and arcane caster levels [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-19-08, 02:46 PM I was wondering if there is a feat that allows warlock levels and levels in a spontaneous arcane casting class stack for determining eldritch blast damage. If there isn't, can anyone tell me sort of how it would go? I'm not looking for caster levels to stack like with Master Spellthief (CS), but if that can happen, too, without making it overpowered or have tough prerequisites, that would defenitely be nice.

If increasing Eldritch Blast damage was a simple as taking a feat why continue with Warlock as spells generally outperform invocations.

01-19-08, 06:55 PM I was thinking it could work if the damage progression was less than going straight warlock, like maybe +1d6 every three levels in the other class (instead of every two like with warlock) up to a certain level in the other class, then limit how much the stacking can add to eldritch blast, like maybe only up to +3d6. Possibly a smaller feat that can only be taken once would be better, like get +1d6 from the feat and add half your warlock level to caster level in a particular class.

01-19-08, 09:20 PM These aren't feat but prestige classes, it's about all I could find.

Eldritch Theurge (Complete Mage p57) Prestige Class (Warlock + Arcane Spell caster) give + 1 to existing arcane spellcastihg class and +1 to existing invocation using class

Spellblast (Sp):allows you to place an arcane
spell that affects an area upon your eldritch blast.

Eldritch Spellweave (Su):you can
apply an eldritch essence invocation you know (other than
greatreach blast or spellblast) to any arcane spell that affects a
target or that requires a melee or ranged touch attack.

Greatreach Blast (Sp):allows you to place an arcane spell with
a range of touch upon your eldritch blast.

There is also Hellfire Prestige Class( Fiendish Codex II p89), it's only 3 levels but adds 2d6 per class lvl.

01-19-08, 11:51 PM Unfortunately, my DM has some fairly hard rules about getting into PrC's, so I don't know how that would go, but I'll defenitely bring them up sometime and see what he thinks.

Is there maybe a feat or ability sort of like Arcane Strike, but with eldritch blast? I know eldritch glaive could (probably) use it, and it should stack with hideous blow, but how about as a ranged thing?
