Can rapid shot be used on a Warlocks eldritch blast? The feat description says an extra ranged attack in a round and eldritch blast is a ranged attack. Or do only feats that effect spell like abilities like quicken spell like ability effect spells?

No, Rapid Shot isn't usable with Eldritch Blast. The Blast uses a single standard action, which is incompatible with feats like Rapid Shot which affect attack actions. Quicken Spell-like Ability works normally, though.

FAQ please. The EB is not a ranged attack. Well, it's an action that does damage at range (a ranged attack), but not in D&D terminology. It is a spell like ability. Therefore, ditto Anyr.

EB is a ranged attack. It is at range, and it is an attack. You can use feats like Point-Blank and Precise Shot with it just fine.

But, for the reasons stated by Anyr, it doesn’t work.

A ranged spell-like ability, which counts as a ranged attack for a number of feats. There is a whole section on this in Complete Arcane...

Yes, but not as an attack action is what I was trying to say. It's not an attack action, but it counts as an attack for somethings, as outlined in the CArc. I've been having trouble being understood recently. I should work on that.

The confusion is, I think, in this:

A single attack take a standard action.
As a full round action, you can make multiple attacks (Rapid Shot, TWF, iterative attacks, etc.)

So, from this, people infer that one can use the same techniques (Rapid Shot, iterative attacks) to increase the number of other standard-action activities, like EB.

But, the rules that allow for multiple attacks in a round are special rules that apply only to attack actions and to no other actions with a standard-action time.

way I would see it, in game terms is that rapid shot works by your training to swiftly fire one arrow after another. In the time it would take you to reach into your quiver and pull out an arrow (or other various weapon) and fire it, rapid shot allows you one extra arrow with a bit more concentration (thus a full round option)

Whereas, EB is a spell like ability, sorry but it is an unlimited supply of eldritch power of which you can tap into practically anytime. Ammunition, however, is limited (though most people dont keep track)

Thus, if you think about it, Rapid shot, a feat availible to fighters, equates to their dextrous hands being able to grab that extra arrow whereas Quicken Spell like ability would work for EB because it is, a spell like ability.

Just some logic
