a warlock in my campaign recently acquired the gloves of eldritch admixture, and was wondering how it would work alongside her maximize spell-like ability. to activate the gloves it is a swift action, but that made me realize that i didn't know what kind of action maximize spell-like ability is - i guess i've always kind of assumed it's a free action to use a meta spell-like feat.

summary: what kind of action does it take to use a meta spell-like ability?

Using feats like Empower SLA is Not An Action.

It absorbs no time to use these feats - you can only use them in conjunction with the designated SLA and never on their own.

excellent.

so, just to be sure, since she's a high enough level, she can fire off an empowered maximized eldritch blast and then as a swift action activate all 3 charges in her gloves of eldritch admixture and add an additional amount depending on her choice?

that's going to be fairly deadly since she has a single level in rogue for the sneak attack, and is usually using walk unseen...

thanks for the help!

She'd need to be Warlock 10 or higher.
