I'm planning my next character to be bard/fortune's friend (from the complete scoundrel) who really concentrates on his luck and thus I was wondering if there were any ways to gain some more (luck) feats. He will of course be human and the prestige class gives two additional luck feats but is there anything else? And also are there any other ways to play around with luck?

You could give him flaws for the irony.

i think you can get a bonus feat from the human paragon class.

The rogue variant from UA that gives you feats instead of SA can be good. 4 levels mean 2 feats, evasion, and uncanny dodge - useful stuff, imo.

Are the luck feats bonus fighter feats? (I don't have the book.)

No, they're not. They are, however, "more feats". Standard PHB Rogues can also take one or more bonus feats instead of high-level abilities like Improved Evasion ("bonus feat" is listed as one of the options), and there are also a few PrC's that offer one or more bonus feats: PrC's generally also require feats to qualify, but you might be able to qualify with feats you've already taken, or Fighter bonus feats.

For instance, if homebrew is allowed, you could do this with my Master Adventurer (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=772745) if you have Improved Initiative or take a Fighter level to get it: it gives back a bonus (general) feat at 5th level. Loremaster also gives a bonus feat, but the feat-requirements are steep.

Do you know of any other rogue variants that replace SA with other things (feats or anything else)?

Since I run the Netbook of Feats and there is only a pretty limmited amount of playtesting time you can personaly put in on things...

I often simply grant characters in my games, extra feats that I select, either based on the characters background or based on events in the game.

This does sometimes make for more powerful characters, and sometimes when you give someone a feat they simply don't bother to use it much. But in general there is no reason a DM can't simply hand out some extra character bonuses to players when the feel like doing so.

There's the Heroics spell (Spell Compendium) which temporarily grants a fighter bonus feat. You can't directly get a luck bonus, but Improved Initiative can't help but improve your chances at pretty much everything. Heroics isn't on the Bard list so you'll need to use UMD.

You could buy Luck stones.... have them "magiked up"..... take "create wondrous item"....and make items with lucky features....

Not really, it is pretty iconic for them... Mind you, I have not checked CScoundrel and CChampion, maybe there is something there. At least, unless you consider rogue-like classes like the CV ninja variants :)
