| Zavia08-31-07, 10:38 AM | Weapon Aptitude, Tome of Battle, PG 23. Can someone explain to me how it works, with examples? Im thinking of using the classes in this book in an upcoming friend's game. |
| Ocom08-31-07, 11:06 AM | Part 1 You can take feats that require fighter levels like Weapon Specialization. But you have to have 2 more warblade levels than the feat requires fighter levels. So, with 6 levels of warblade you can take Weapon Specialization, with 10 levels you can take Greater Weapon Focus etc. Part 2 You can change the selected weapon of any feat that requires you to select one weapon. Such as Exotic Weapon Proficiency, Weapon Focus, Improved Critical. So, you can spend 1 hour to switch your Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Scythe) to (Net). But if you also have Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialization with the Scythe you have to choose new weapons for those feats. Reason: because you need to be proficient with the weapon for Weapon Focus. You don't need to change them to Net, but just a weapon you are proficient in. At the end of the retraining, all the feats must be correctly and must meet their prerequisites. So you can only change Weapon Focus tree as a whole. If I only confuse you more then I apologize :) |
| Zavia08-31-07, 12:04 PM | 1st part: so in essence, my bonus feats are like fighter bonus feats, just that i lag by 2 levels? as long is i fulfill the Prerequisite? 2nd part: i can freely change which weapon i wana focus on/be profecient/specialize in by spending one hour only? and since im here, wads a good core race(with their sub races allowed) for a gestalt swordsage/warblade? |
| zorgling2508-31-07, 05:17 PM | 1st part: so in essence, my bonus feats are like fighter bonus feats, just that i lag by 2 levels? as long is i fulfill the Prerequisite? No. The Warblade bonus feats are selected from the Warblade bonus feat list. However, you can take fighter-specific feats at levels where you gain regular feats (1, 3, 6, 9,...) provided your level is 2 higher than the fighter level required for those feats. 2nd part: i can freely change which weapon i wana focus on/be profecient/specialize in by spending one hour only? Correct. and since im here, wads a good core race(with their sub races allowed) for a gestalt swordsage/warblade? You can never go wrong with human. |
| Nephlite08-31-07, 05:40 PM | and since im here, wads a good core race(with their sub races allowed) for a gestalt swordsage/warblade? Grey Elves give +2 dex and +2 int, but you lose Str and Con. With Weapon finesse and Shadow Blade: you don't need Strength though (I mean, not required but nice). |

And specifically what feats require fighter levels to be able to take it? i dont seem to remember that part. i checked a few fighter bonus feats and they dont say anything bout this needed fighter lvl. yea, humans is never wrong, but aint the best for this senario. i have 2 newbie bard/ranger and rogue/monk. im getting the b/r to go range, r/m to go stealth/skills. while its somewhat ok without spells and healing, a tanker is really needed, so im not really looking foward to getting lots of skill points. more on tanking and killing, and you know, being physically macho etc etc. and i need the 1st 3 stats, as im the main melee. stats are: 14/14/12/14/14/8 (28 point buy) At this rate, im probably gona take halfling, as with stonefoot stance, i gain +2str which covers my -str, and if i fight anyone bigger than me i gain +2AC. Unless someone has a better suggestion... |

The following feats require fighter levels. There may be others that I forgot, or that are in books I don't have. From the Player's Handbook; Weapon Specialization, Greater Weapon Focus, and Greater Weapon Specialization. From the Player's Handbook II; Melee Weapon Mastery, Ranged Weapon Mastery, and Weapon Supremacy. |

Non-Warblades and non-Fighters can't take it (maybe 2 exceptions, Favored Soul gets it and stuff). |
