Weapon Focus: spells [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-20-07, 02:12 AM OK, so you can take a Weapon Focus (+1 to hit) in Rays....

Can I do the same with Orbs? (see Spell Compendium) Any way to make it more general, as there are more "ray" spells around than orb spells...

As they're all ranged, touch attacks is it too overpowering to try to get a weapon focus in "Ranged Touch Attacks"...?

03-20-07, 02:18 AM Complete Arcane offers feats with the prerequisites Weapon Focus (touch spell) and Weapon Focus (ranged spell), so I'd say it's legit. Although the example given in the PHB is rays, the feats don't make much sense if you can't qualify for them.

03-20-07, 01:00 PM IIRC, the various orb spells are still technically "rays". A ray being any spell delivered by a ranged touch attack.

So WF (ray) is the same thing as WF (ranged touch).
