What Feats are these? (Shield feats which allow using a shield as an off-hand weapon) [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-19-07, 11:31 PM Sorry for the vagueness of the question, but for the life of me I can't remember these particular Feats. At the moment I'm visiting family out of state, and won't be home for another two weeks, so I can't check my books. Trying to remember these two Feats is driving me up the wall, though, so I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone knew which Feats I'm talking about.

Anyway, I think the two Feats I'm trying to remember are in Complete Warrior. At the very least, they're likely in a Complete _____ book. One of the Feats essentially works like Two-Weapon Fighting, except that your Dex doesn't have to be 15, but the off-hand weapon has to be a shield. The other Feat is a Shield Feat of some sort which is a prerequisite for taking the above Feat.

So anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? If you do, mind telling me what the names of those two Feats are, and what the second one (The one that's the prerequisite for the other one) does? Thanks.

05-20-07, 09:03 AM I think you're looking for Agile Shield Fighter which IIRC is in PHII.

Prerequisites for the feat are Improved Shield Bash (PHB) & Shield Specialization (PHII, IIRC).

05-20-07, 09:22 AM Martial Weapon Proficiency:Heave or Light Shield lets you use it as a weapon. Two Weapon Fighting helps.
Improved Shield Bash lets you keep your Shield bonus to AC for the rest of the round after you attack with it.
There are a lot of other shield feats from the PHB2 and CW. For example Shield Charge, Shield Slam, Shield Throw (I think, might be hurl or toss or something), Shield Ward and Specialization (more making a shield a better shield than weapon), and those mentioned above.

And sorry about that. Could've sworn they were in Complete Warrior, and not the PHB II.

05-21-07, 08:56 AM Shield Specialization lets you choose one type of shield (except Tower ARG!!!!!!!) and add +1 to it's shield bonus. It is the Prereq for Shield Ward, (BROKEN) which lets you maintain your shield and enhancement bonus to your Touch AC, grapple, Bull Rush, and I think trip AC as well.

05-21-07, 10:14 AM shield ward was essential to my whispergnomish warblade (very interesting character, actually)

I used an adamantine +1 diamond mind rapier, and +2 mithril heavy shield with +2 mithril fullplate thats spiked.

Oddly, with heavy shield, and fullplate, my hide and move silently mods were +3
