Okay, so my companions and I just finished off an undead minotaur, and he had a killer great axe, which I am now carrying, problem is it's more than 2 sizes out of my size range. Our DM said there is a feat I can take to not have to take subtractions to my attack roll when using a huge weapon, anyone know what feat this might be and what it's prereqs are? Thanks in advance

Shaun

P.s. I'm a human fighter, and he said he thought he saw it in a book on warriors, not one of the rulebooks/handbooks.

Monkeygrip, from Complete Warrior will allow you to use a weapon one size out of your range. Or perhaps you're playing 3.0 in which case the original text of Monkey Grip is in Sword and Fist which should allow more than one size increase. Your DM may choose to houserule that the original text supercedes that in Complete Warrior since he suggested the feat. Short of that, you need an Epic feat.

You should have given real sizes for the weapon etc. Don't just say "the DM said it is two sizes to big", as you never know if your DM is right. In this case, he is at least partially incorrect, or at least what you reported he said is not accurate.

As is, I THINK that you are playing a 3.0 game, and that leads to more confusion.

In 3.0:

Normal undead minotaurs would be Large sized, and they would be using a Huge sized axe with both hands.

You would be a medium sized human, 'who is two sizes smaller than the axe' and ould normally only be allowed to use a Large sized axe with both hands, so "the axe is one size too big for you to use"

You can take the feat Monkey Grip to let you use the axe, but you still take a -2 penalty to use the axe, even with the feat

-----------------

In 3.5, the differences are as follows:

1. The axe while still being the exact same size, is now called a "Large sized two handed weapon" instead of a Huge axe"

2. You would now claim that you are 'one size smaller than the axe' instead of two sizes, but the axe is still one size too big for you to use without a feat.

---------------

There is NO feat, in either 3.0 or 3.5 to let you use the axe without any penalty.

There are however certain races that are 'extra big medium sized people', such as Goliaths, that even though they are medium, count as large so they could use the weapon without penalty
