Not too long ago, I wrote up a monk character, who used a quarterstaff as his secondary weapon. His favored tactic when using this staff was to keep it in perpetual motion, never letting it's momentum down. What I'm wondering is, what type of perform check would it be to see if he managed that, or would there be a check for it at all?

Playing with weapons can be handled with Perform (Weapon Drill) detailed in Complete Warrior. It is slightly modified from a normal Perform skill, it uses part of your BAB as a modifier, and it can do a couple of minor things.

Thank both of you for asking - and answering - this question. An old PC from 1st Edition is going to be making a glorious return to the table now - thanks to both of you!!

Don Payne Darkwater, Master Swordsman, Pirate Captain and allaround scallawag, will be making merry soon enough - now that I've been shown how to properly rule-play (vice role-play) his weapon show-off skills.

Or would those be "B1a|)3 5kiLlz"?? Bah, I never was any good at "elite speaking".
