If character wants to hide stuff in room, like making secret compartments to stone/wood/plaster floor/wall. One thing my DM can think is Craft: Traps, because traps usually are hidden. I hope there is skill to that because how come there is hidden treasures in adventures with nice loot in it :D If there is some skills to do it, I presume the check to make a compartment is DC to search it later (buy some dishonest person :) ) right? Idea is my character stays at rent (some house/apartment/etc.) changing places about once per month and places usually are very low class areas, so no thanks to getting robbed. Thanks in advance |

Search is INT-based (unlike Hide or Sleight of Hand which are DEX). Make a Search check and assign the result as the DC for others to locate the item. |

If you just want to hide something within an ordinary object, I would say that the DC is a 20 at most. Anyone who takes a 20 to search the entire room should be able to find it. If you want to have a secret compartment such as under a floorboard or in a wall, then the DM might have to adjudicate it based on what he would expect a PC to roll to be able to find such a hiding place. |
